Weekend Floating Market
Bangkok’s roots go back to a small trading post created during the Kingdom of Ayutthaya in the 15th century, on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Regularly cited among the most visited cities in the world, the city is built in the delta of the river on a formerly marshy area, the right bank of which is crossed by numerous khlongs which have earned the city the nickname of “Venice of Asia”. The Thais are fond of the many markets that have developed on the river, where they go for weekend strolls with their families, taking advantage of the milder weather and the many restaurants and other activities* on offer. Come and discover what a typical day of a weekend looks like in the Thai capital, between a walk along the khlongs, a visit to the Talling Chan market and the many temples along the route.
